'The Nazi Games: Politics, the Media and the Body'
As the Olympic Games arrive in London this summer, The Wiener Library will be looking back to 1930s Berlin as we open our new temporary exhibition.
Drawing on the Library's extensive collection of propaganda, including pamphlets, photographs and illustrated books, this exhibition exposes the astonishing and frightening skill of the Nazis as manipulators of public opinion, while also highlighting the stories of people who resisted Nazi views of the ideal sporting body. The exhibition runs from Thursday 14 June and is open, free of charge, during the Library's normal opening hours.
The Library has partnered with the Holocaust Educational Trust to offer special workshops for schools relating to the exhibition. These workshops, led by a Holocaust Educational Trust educator, will consist of an introductory film, a guided tour of the exhibition and a research task.
